October and November saw the arrival of some real Ghost Hunters to Cumbria House. Rob Kircup emailed us in September enquiring about accommodation for himself and his team (Rob, Tom, Rich and John) whist staying in York. The reason being is that Rob is writing a book on Paranormal Activity in York buildings and there were still a few places to check out in York before he can conclude his investigations, finish the book and go to print. The book will be published by Amberley Publishing proberbly in spring 2012, and it is expected to be called Paranormal York Investigated, by Rob Kirkup ( I will keep you posted)
Why was I interested? Well it wasn’t because I am curious about paranormal activity, it was purely the fact that every penny Rob raises will go to Cancer Research. As Cancer Charities are close to mine and Elaine’s hearts we let the lads stay for free, only on the proviso that they won’t tell me about any strange goings on in the B&B, of course Elaine wanted to know!
A few of the places Rob and his team checked out over the last year were:
National Railway Museum, Dean Court Hotel, Gray’s Court, York Tyburn, Siward’s Howe, York Dungeon, 35 Stonegate, Middlethorpe Hall Hotel, Guild Hall, Golden Fleece.
Were any of them haunted? Well having chatted to the lads I would say yes but I think it’s only fair to let Rob tell you the whole story in his book.
Was Cumbria House Haunted? Well I think you best come and stay and see for yourself.

Tom and Rich have noticed something!!!
