Built in 1876 Cumbria House is a warm and friendly, family run Victorian, York Bed & Breakfast, where we are conveniently located in the beautiful City of York. We have been awarded AA and Enjoy England 3 Star rating; however you will receive a 5-star service at a 3-star price!

We are only a short walk from the historical City Walls, Theatre, Shops and York Minster. A local bus stop is situated outside the Guest House and buses run regularly.

Proprietors

Tom and Elaine took over in early August.  Tom has recently retired from the Army after 32 years’ service, where he went through the ranks to reach the rank of Major and was awarded the MBE (Military Division).  Elaine has now retired from Administration work and is Mum to four grown up children.
